Recently some very big content creators popularized phrases like “Is Genshin dead?”, “Genshin would never” or “Genshin killer”. So, is Wuthering Waves THE REAL GENSHIN KILLER?
Many people use these phrases now and I bet most don’t even play the game.
It seems like they weren’t rating the games as enjoyable or not. Instead, they were just comparing it to another game they don’t like and don’t even play.
Rather than talking about why Wuthering Waves is awesome(or not), people compare it to other games.
Everyone has an opinion, but comparing games feels unfair.
Is Wuthering Waves Dead?
NO! And it probably won’t be. My biggest concern is that the game has everything going for it because they took the best ideas from the best games… but can they keep it up?
Since it’s set in a post-apocalyptic world, the colours are supposed to look duller and greyer than Genshin. They were supposed to be that way, but when players complained after the beta was out, the developers changed them. The idle animations used to be boring, but now they’re fun and quirky.
The game does have an identity crisis. Are we supposed to think this is a game with dark themes and tragedy, or are we supposed to think it’s a happy adventure?
We’re hoping they’ll find something special and unique before release day for WUTHERING WAVES.
And, Ling Yang being a lion dancer, like Ga-Ming?
The Artifact grinding!
You can capture enemies to upgrade your characters with the ‘Echo System’, which is a highlight of the game.
Wuthering Waves’ Echo System, similar to Genshin’s artifact system and HSR’s relic system, is getting a lot of criticism in CBT2.
In addition, Wuthering Waves is a gacha game, so no matter how hard you work, you still have to gamble if you want better stats and characters.
No one wants this game to become a single-player gacha game with MMORPG grinding.

Wuthering Waves Endgame!
As always, PGR had a great mobile combat system, and this game does lives up to that. There’s open world exploration, and puzzles with a great main story quest, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Genshin.
However, they’re also trying to appeal to hardcore players who want end-game content, mostly whales and Youtube Content Creators.
But, it is a cross-platform mobile game, you can play it on your Phone.
In a mobile game, you can’t have hard endgame content because… we use our thumbs.
So, Is Wuthering Waves worth playing?
- Not sure, but it’s worth a try, especially if you’re new to Gacha games!
- At the very least, make a WW account and do the dailies.
- Keep it alive so you can participate in future content updates and events.
- I mean you do get the WAIFUS… so

Is Wuthering Waves Better Than Genshin Impact?
There’s been a recent rise in gacha games, with Genshin Impact dominating for a while now. A new contender has arrived called Wuthering Waves.
So which one should you go for?
As a HoYoverse fan, I started off playing Honkai Impact 3rd back when there was just miHoYo. I regularly play Genshin, and now HSR is my main game.
I’m hoping WW will be good
